Terror Plot Stopped: A 26-year-old U.S. Army veteran is accused of planning a terror attack near Los Angeles, California. Court documents show he wanted revenge for the killing of Muslims in shootings at two mosques in New Zealand last month. Instead, he was arrested after he allegedly took what he thought was a live bomb from undercover agents (it was a fake).

ISIS Video: ISIS released a rare video, which appears to show the world’s most wanted man: the group’s leader, Abu Bakr Al-Baghdadi. If it is him, it’s the first time he’s shown his face in five years. In the new video, he acknowledges defeat in Syria but says ISIS will keep fighting.

Measles Update:  The number of measles cases in the U.S. keeps going up. There are more than 700 cases this year, the biggest outbreak in decades. In New York, two more schools for Orthodox Jewish children were closed because of the outbreak. In California, hundreds of university students and staff are still under quarantine because they may have been exposed to the virus. Experts continue to blame misinformation about the vaccine.

John Singleton Dies:  Groundbreaking Hollywood director John Singleton has died. Singleton is known for the trailblazing movie Boyz n the Hood starring Ice Cube and Cuba Gooding Jr. He was the first black director and the youngest director to be nominated for an Oscar. Singleton had a stroke earlier this month and died yesterday. He was 51.

NASA Drill:  A massive asteroid heading for Earth! Well, not really, but this week NASA will pretend it's happening in order to come up with a plan – just in case. Scientists at the 2019 Planetary Defense Conference will model a scenario with a one percent chance of an asteroid that could take out an entire city. While it’s not real (and is extremely unlikely), scientists say it could happen and they want to be ready.

Marriott’s Airbnb: Marriott is getting into the home-sharing business, working to compete with companies like Airbnb. Marriott plans to be the first major hotel company to create a home-rental platform. “Homes and Villas By Marriott” would allow guests to book rentals on the Marriott website and earn points. The chain has already tested the idea in Europe and should announce official plans to bring it to the U.S. next month.

Samsung Millennial TV: Samsung is making a new TV for millennials. The Sero TV looks normal, but it can rotate – turning vertically – to allow people to project things from their phones onto the TV. The Sero will cost about $1,600, and for now, it will only be sold in South Korea.

SI Swimsuit First:  Halima Aden just made history as the first model ever to wear a hijab and a burkini on the cover of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue. Aden hopes her pictures will help change false perceptions about Muslim and refugee communities and show young Muslim women they, too, have swimsuit options.

Woodstock 50 Canceled?: Woodstock’s 50th anniversary music festival may now be canceled after investors pulled the plug. It was set to happen later this summer in upstate New York with performers like Jay Z, Miley Cyrus and The Killers, but the people funding the festival changed their mind. The event organizers are pushing back, however, saying the concert is still on and the investors don’t have the right to cancel it. Stay tuned.

Impossible Whopper:  Burger King recently tested a meatless version of the Whopper in St. Louis, and now the company plans to start selling the “Impossible Whopper” nationwide. They’ll test it in a few more places before selling it around the country by the end of this year.
