Trump Jr. & Subpoenas: First, Donald Trump Jr. will testify before a Senate committee for a second time today. The testimony will not be public but he'll likely be asked about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting with a Russian lawyer. Also, House Democrats could take their subpoena fights to federal court. A resolution was passed yesterday to allow it. Democrats want a judge to enforce their subpoenas since some Trump administration officials have refused to provide the documents requested.

2020 Election: President Trump and presidential candidate Joe Biden traded insults while both visiting Iowa (an early-voting swing state). Former Vice President Biden is seen as a frontrunner. Meanwhile, the first Democratic primary debate is exactly two weeks away, and we now know who will be moderating: Lester Holt, Savannah Guthrie, Chuck Todd, Rachel Maddow and Jose Diaz-Balart. Ten candidates will take the stage each night on June 26th and 27th.

States Sue Over Merger: The deal between T-Mobile and Sprint may be in trouble. Several states have expressed concern over the two companies combining into one cell carrier, and those states have now filed a lawsuit to try to stop the merger. Attorneys General from nine states and the District of Columbia are worried the deal would hurt competition, raise prices and cut jobs. T-Mobile and Sprint say that’s not true. Either way, the lawsuit is a setback for the merger right after the deal got support from the chairman of the FCC last month. Stay tuned.

Big Tech in Trouble?: Big tech is back in the hot seat as Congress begins its own antitrust investigation. Lawmakers on both sides of the aisle are concerned about how the tech industry has affected the news industry. Large media groups have said tech giants like Facebook and Google have forced newspapers to close or scale back their operation as tech companies get more of the ad dollars. Google says it’s not the bad guy in all this since searches send billions of clicks to publishers’ websites.

Record Heat: It’s going to be a hot one on the West Coast today, with record-breaking temperatures reaching 100+ degrees. San Francisco hit the triple digit mark on Monday; it’s hotter there than in Las Vegas. Oregon and Washington are also expecting record highs.

World Cup Record: The U.S. Women’s Soccer team beat Thailand with a record-breaking score of 13-0. Thirteen goals is the most ever scored in World Cup history, in both men’s and women’s soccer. Alex Morgan scored five goals, tying the single game record for points scored. The U.S. Women’s team is looking to win the World Cup for the second time in a row. They’ll play Sweden next week.

Facebook Data, Solar Project: Facebook wants to pay you for your cell phone data. The tech company made a new app called Study, where it pays people to monitor how they use their phones. Also, Facebook is investing in solar energy. The company is partnering with a renewable energy developer to build what’s believed to be one of the largest solar projects in the nation. It’ll be in west Texas and is expected to be up and running next year.

Uber Air Taxis: Uber unveiled its electric air taxi prototype yesterday. It can hold four passengers and looks like an airplane-helicopter hybrid. It flies emissions-free at up to 150 miles per hour. The Uber air taxis will cost about the same as an Uber Black ride, and eventually could be cheaper than owning a car. The company hopes to have its air taxis off the ground by 2023 in LA, Dallas and Melbourne, Australia.

Amazon Restaurants: Amazon is shutting down its restaurant delivery service. Amazon Restaurants was supposed to compete with the likes of Uber Eats, but it failed after four years and will shut down in two weeks. Experts say it likely failed because no one knew about it.
