#DemDebate: Round 2 of the first 2020 Democratic presidential debate is tonight. The second set of ten candidates will take the stage tonight at 9pm EDT on NBC. The first ten candidates had their chance last night. Healthcare, climate change, immigration and the economy were some of the topics. President Trump tweeted, “Boring!” during the debate.

Humanitarian Aid Bills: The House and Senate each passed their own versions of a humanitarian aid bill this week. The agencies in charge of taking care of migrant families and children who are detained at the U.S.-Mexico border say money is running out soon, while lawmakers hope to get something passed before the Fourth of July. Will they find a compromise in time?

Wayfair Boycott: About 500 employees at the online furniture store Wayfair walked out of work yesterday to stage a protest in Boston. Some customers are also boycotting the company. Wayfair is reportedly selling mattresses to a new detention center for migrant children in Texas, and critics say the company shouldn't profit off these detention centers. Others say the kids need a place to sleep. Wayfair responded by donating $100,000 to the Red Cross.

Overdose Deaths Down: The number of drug overdose deaths in the U.S. could be going down for the first time in decades. Early CDC data shows 69,000 people died from drug overdoses in 2018, which is down more than 3,000 from the year before. If the numbers check out, the annual drug deaths will have fallen for the first time since 1990.

Weather Update: A scorching heat wave is still impacting parts of Europe. Temperatures in the south of France could reach 110°F, just one degree away from beating the country’s all-time record high for June. The extreme heat will continue tomorrow and may impact the World Cup. Also, the first tropical storm of the 2019 hurricane season has a name: Alvin. It’s expected to break apart this weekend.

Google Auto-Delete: A new Google feature now available will auto-delete your location history. Google has started rolling it out for both Android and Apple phones. Users will have the option to wipe their location history every three months or every 18 months.

YouTube Video Options: YouTube users will now be able to tell YouTube to stop suggesting videos from certain channels. The new feature won’t necessarily get rid of toxic clips or block extremist content, but it will give you more control over what shows up in your feed.

Selfie Cam Hidden: Chinese smartphone maker Oppo has come up with a way to hide the front-facing camera. The company is working on a phone that puts the selfie cam under the glass display of a phone. You can’t see the camera on the screen, and the touch screen still works where the camera is located. The phone will be available in the “near future.”

Target’s Deal Day: Target has announced its plans to compete with Amazon’s Prime Day on July 15 and 16. Target will have “Deal Days.” It’s one of the biggest days of the year for online sales for both companies. eBay is also holding a “Crash Sale” of its own.

The Office Off Netflix: The Office will be removed from Netflix in 2021. NBC Universal will add the show to its own streaming service, which is launching next year. Netflix will be sad to see it go, since The Office is one of the most-watched shows.
