Today's "Special Edition Saturday" is all about the upcoming Democratic and Republican conventions. Leaders from both parties preview the big events, share their perspectives on mail-in voting, and talk about the challenges they’re each facing leading up to Election Day. 

Joe Solmonese

Political Strategist and Author Joe Solmonese was named CEO of the Democratic National Convention Committee (DNCC) in March 2019.

Prior to his appointment, Joe served as a Partner at Gavin/Solmonese. He leads the firm's Corporate and Nonprofit Engagement practice located in New York City and Washington, D.C. Before forming Gavin/Solmonese, Joe served as President of the Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and as CEO of EMILY’s List – one of the nation’s largest political action committees.

Joe’s most recent engagement was with Planned Parenthood Federation of America. Joe is the author of “The Gift of Anger” published in 2016. In his book, he shares numerous stories about harnessing anger—especially when dealing with complex, divisive issues—to achieve a stronger, more productive outcome.
