 Today, we look at how museums around the country are working overtime to document history as it unfolds, from the pandemic to the protests to the political atmosphere.

 We speak with Margi Hofer, Vice President and Museum Director at the New-York Historical Society, which is the oldest museum in NYC. The team there has been working to collect various items that will eventually tell the story of 2020 to future generations.

Margaret K. Hofer

Margaret K. Hofer is Vice President and Museum Director at the New-York Historical Society, the oldest museum in New York City.

As a decorative arts curator for more than two decades, she has organized numerous exhibitions including Making It Modern: The Folk Art Collection of Elie and Viola Nadelman (2015,) and Stories in Sterling: Four Centuries of Silver in New York (2011), as well as the groundbreaking A New Light on Tiffany: Clara Driscoll and the Tiffany Girls (2007).

She has published several award-winning exhibition catalogues and lectures on American decorative arts nationwide.
