Scott is a long-time political confidante of U.S. Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell and was Special Assistant for Political Affairs to President George W. Bush. He has worked on several presidential, senate, and congressional campaigns.

He is a founding partner of the public relations firm RunSwitch PR and teaches a class called “Modern American Political Campaigns” at the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
