California School Shooting:
There was a school shooting at a high school just outside of Los Angeles in Santa Clarita, California. A student killed two teens and wounded three others before he shot himself. As of early this morning, he’s reportedly still alive at a hospital. Investigators say there’s no clear motive yet.

Public Impeachment Hearing #2:
Today is the second day of public impeachment hearings. Marie Yovanovitch will testify. She worked for the State Department for more than 30 years and was the ambassador to Ukraine until she was ousted last spring. President Trump has called her “bad news,” but her colleagues have expressed concern about how she was treated and why.

‘Bribery’ Accusation:
Democrats are using a new word more and more: “bribery.” The term is specifically mentioned in the Constitution’s impeachment clause as grounds to remove someone from office. We’ll see if it holds up as the process continues.

Gubernatorial Election Updates:
After the state double-checked votes, the outcome is the same. Now Kentucky’s governor-elect is Democrat Andy Beshear. Republican candidate Matt Bevin has conceded. Next up: another high-profile and close race for governor. This one is in Louisiana. The runoff election is tomorrow.

Venice Flooding:
Venice is dealing with the worst flooding it’s seen in more than 50 years, so Italy declared a state of emergency. The flood waters are impacting famous landmarks and tourist attractions. Local leaders blame climate change.

Aging Study:
Scientists are conducting the largest ever study on dog aging, and they’re looking for 10,000 pets to sign up. As part of the study, they'll test out a pill on 500 dogs that could slow down aging. The National Institute of Aging is paying for the study because it could also provide insights for human aging as well. Pet owners will have to fill out online surveys and share the data obtained during annual vet check-ups.

Apple Research App:
Apple is looking for participants to join a few new health studies through the Apple Research app. The company will look at data collected by Apple devices to learn about fertility, warning signs of heart disease and how headphones affect hearing over time.

Google Helps Pronunciation:
A new Google search engine feature will allow users to look up word pronunciations. Google will use artificial intelligence to listen to your voice and determine if you said a word correctly. If not, it will offer syllable-specific feedback. Right now, it only works with English words, but Spanish pronunciations are coming soon.

Best U.S. Airports:
The Wall Street Journal has named Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport the best large airport in the U.S. New York's JFK and Newark Liberty were at the bottom. As for the mid-sized airports, Tampa's airport got the top spot, and New York's LaGuardia came in last. See the full list below...

MLB MVP:
The votes are in for Major League Baseball’s most valuable players. In the American League, it’s the Angels' Mike Trout (for the third time). In the National League, Dodgers outfielder Cody Bellinger won the honor.

Taylor Swift Controversy:
Taylor Swift is set to perform at the American Music Awards later this month, but she says her former music label won’t let her perform older songs. So, Swift took to social media to ask her fans to contact the men involved and share their thoughts. Well, fans have since posted the label execs’ phone numbers and home addresses, which some say crosses the line.

AMAs, Grammys Hosts:
Ciara is set to host the AMAs on November 24th, while the Grammys will feature Alicia Keys returning as the host for the second year in a row. The Grammys air in January 2020, and nominations come out next week.
