Military Hospital False Alarm: There was a major mistake at Walter Reed Medical Center near Washington, D.C. yesterday. Many people, including patients and police, believed there was an active shooter when it was really just a false alarm. The U.S. Navy later said someone was preparing for an upcoming drill and accidentally sent out a mass notification without the word "DRILL."

Fewer Illegal Immigrants: Illegal immigration to the U.S. is down. A study by Pew Research Center found the number of undocumented immigrants has steadily declined for a decade. The most recent data was in 2016. Other data shows the trend has likely continued the last two years. The research also found there are fewer Mexican migrants and more from Central America.

Mississippi's Senator: Voters chose Republican Cindy Hyde-Smith for the U.S. Senate in yesterday's high-profile runoff election in Mississippi. The runoff happened because neither candidate had more than 50% of the votes on Election Day.

Money to Trauma Survivors: Christine Blasey Ford says she'll be donating money left in the crowdfunding campaign set up for her to organizations supporting trauma survivors. She first used some of the money for a security detail after receiving threats. Remember: Blasey Ford is the woman who testified that Brett Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her in the 80s. Kavanaugh denied the claim and is now a U.S. Supreme Court Justice.

Facebook Under Fire: Lawmakers from nine different countries grilled an executive from Facebook yesterday, although they were hoping to have CEO Mark Zuckerberg there. Zuckerberg refused to show, so they left an empty chair for him. It's part of a British committee's investigation into misinformation.

Bird Platform: You could own your own e-scooter business with the help of the existing scooter company, Bird. Bird wants to sell scooters to entrepreneurs and small businesses, then provide access to chargers and mechanics in exchange for a 20% cut of the cost of each ride. It's called Bird Platform.
